Warcraft and some unexpected email
I received this little gem in my email a couple of days ago. I haven’t had an active Warcraft account in probably close to a year. I have never had a problem with my account nor have I ever contacted Blizzard about my account. What’s going on Blizzard?

This happens a *lot* with WoW accounts. There are keyloggers galore, and some of them are quite clever in that they will observe an account until it is inactive for a while and then go in and mess around with it, taking gold and so forth. Most of the more professional outfits would never have used a different credit card, but would simply use GTCs, because these are much harder to identify by Blizzard as being “fraudulent”. My guess is somehow someone got your password (probably a keylogger somewhere) and were clever about waiting until your account was inactive for a while before accessing it.

Ouch. It looks like you may have to start turning pingbacks off for a while. Any WoW or WAR mention gets you tagged by gold sellers.
Good luck

Have to be careful.
If you remember, I posted a while back how I decided to log into my WoW account and goof off and see if I could go back.
I went to the site, and saw my account was active. It used a credit card that does not exist in my repertoire of cards, and I notified Blizzard.
I changed my email and my password.
Not 2 days later someone tried to reset the password. I notified Blizzard immediately, also recognizing my high level had been zeroed out on gold.
I changed the password again, and canceled the account of course.
After a week of non use, I got an email that my account had been frozen as my card had done a charge back. They removed all my privileges and basically made ME as the thief.
They are idiots at Blizzard, and have no clue what they are doing there. You may have to login and check it real quick on the wow site, and make sure someone is not messing with your account.
Good luck
