MMO Gamers

I’ve hit level 22 in both adventure level and renown rank and am now in Tier 3 Open RvR.  I’ve actually been doing T3 since lvl 21, mostly because a lot of our guild is in Tier 3 now and it’s easy to put together a party or two for some ORvR.  While I really enjoyed doing Scenarios in T1 and T2, I’m getting a bit over them like most players and much prefer the ORvR.

And I’m finding T3 to be a pretty hot place, particularly in Avelorn which seems to be the most hotly contested keep of all of them.  Lots of fighting going on there.  Destruction seems to have a distinct advantage where numbers are concerned.  It’s not as bad as 2-1 but maybe it’s 4-3 or 3-2.  It never was like that, and up until recently I was never in a successful keep siege and failed to hold keeps against the swarm of Order.  While I have nothing to back this up, from what I see on the Warhammer Alliance forums for Phoenix Throne I’m of the opinion that the people are leaving the less populated roleplay servers, White Tower and Ostermark, and after visiting the forums and seeing a lot of positive comments from Destruction players, are choosing to roll Destro.

And while I’m on the topic of Ostermark (was I on the topic?) I’d like to have a /rant about Only War, an RP website.  I’ll have to go back to pre-release and the Headstart for this to make sense.  When Mythic announced the Headstart servers, Phoenix Throne was the only RP server.  Myself and a number of other guilds, ones which I now have an alliance with, decided to roll on Phoenix Throne.  Only War was informed by a poster of our intentions to roll on this server, and they responded with “We’ll decide what server we go to, not you”.  At any rate, Ostermark was announced shortly after as another alternative for the Headstart.  We decided to stick with PT and Only War announced Ostermark as the roleplay server.

When we first started out we advertised our guild on Warhammer Alliance, Only War, and Ten Ton Hammer.  We’ve been bumping our ad all along and recently, when we finally got our guild heraldry, I bumped all three with a picture of said heraldry.  I go to Only War the next day to see if I had any new replies to our bump and I find my last comment, the heraldry, removed and me relegated to page 1,390, 305.  I find this particularly odd so I bump again, visit the site the next day, only to discover my bump gone again.  Whether these guys are moderating my posts because they don’t want the fleeing Ostermark community to continue to flee or whether I’m just paranoid I can’t be sure.  In any case I’ve removed the link to Only War from our guild’s website and after this post here I will have no further dealings with Only War.
