The birth of a guild
Last night and coinciding with the Standard Edition Head Start our guild, Arha Khaladh, was formed. I didn’t have the Collector’s Edition so the guild’s formation had to wait for us cheap Standard Edition pre-orderers. We did have a few CE holders though so they got to get into the game a little earlier with the CE Head Start. Which in itself raised a few concerns.
When the launch server list was first announced it featured three NA Core RP servers. So we needed to decide on which server we would create our guild on so the CE holders could roll their toons. Our pre-release guild was in talks with regards to joining an alliance of RP friendly guilds known as The Unholy Legions of Anti Sanctus Chaotica. This alliance of guilds decided on the server Skavenblight and subsequently informed Only-War, the premier RP website, about their collective decision. The reply they got to their post went something along the lines of “You don’t decide the server, WE DO”. Ah, yeah, whatever.
This all became somewhat moot when Mythic announced a rollout plan for servers, starting with CE, SE, and launch. The only NA Core RP server was Phoenix Throne. So after some discussion with our guild members and the Chaotica’s leadership, we decided that it was only fair on the CE holders that we form the guilds on Phoenix Throne. So Arha Khaladh and the Unholy alliance would head to Phoenix Throne.
Then Mythic decided to complicate things even more and introduced a second CE Head Start RP server which was a totally new server and had never been mentioned before in any server lists. So now we had the choice of Phoenix Throne or Ostermark. Only-War went with Ostermark (ah, yeah, whatever) and we decided, as did the Unholy alliance, to stick with Phoenix Throne. So after all that we finally have ourselves a permanent home.

I am very enthusiastic about how things are starting. We had six members on last night (big thanks to them, by the way if they are reading this) ready and waiting for the Head Honcho (Caliga) to get in game and get the guild up and running. We’ve got around twenty folks active on our boards who I’m hopeful we’ll be adding to the guild when they get their game up and running on the 18th. It’s very exciting to see the guild take shape, see all the enthusiasm from our members and start planning for the future.
And most importantly, the groundwork is laid with having a fun, enjoyable game to play as a part of that guild. I think we have a very bright future in store.
Cheers!
