Arha Khaladh is born

9 September, 2008 (01:32) | All, Warhammer

Or at least temporarily.  I’ve managed to get enough guild members on at the same time to form our guild, Arha Khaladh, on the Helbrass server for the Open Beta.  I did this mostly to check out the guild tools so I’m not such a n00b at launch, and so I can get everyone together and we can start getting to know each other.  It also has the added bonus of “waving the flag” so to speak and getting our guild name seen in the actual game.  We already had one random person ask if they could join our guild.  When I told him we were roleplayers that scared him off *shifty eyes*.

To form a guild you need to go to your Capital City, which for Destruction is the Inevitable City.  Figuring out how to get there from the Dark Elf starting area, The Blighted Isle, required some forum searching.  Eventually we all made our way to the registrar in the Capital.  You need a full group of six, and they have to be there; if one runs off to do something you can’t form the guild.  It also costs 50 silver.  At level 5 I had 42 silver and Kyrana came up with the rest.

Not all the guild tools were working, such as ranks for instance.  You could only use four of the ten ranks.  And at guild level 1 there aren’t too many of the extra stuff available.  Calender comes into play at level 2, Banners at 6, and a ton of stuff in-between and beyond.  You level the guild by just playing the game; RvR, PvE and so on.  And the larger your guild, the less percentage of your efforts go to leveling the guild, so small guilds don’t get shafted for a change.  Even the smallest guild can level and reap the benefits.

The guild interface itself is really well done and you have quite a few options and some control over things.  I’m not sure what to compare it with, though EQ2’s Guild interface was similar.  You can even write a brief ad that the public can view, though I don’t know where or how you advertise your guild.  Perhaps that feature’s not in the game yet.  At any rate, it all looks really good, and after Age of Conan’s appalling Guild interface, it’s nice to see someone do it right.

Yay, us! That was fun last night. It’s very gratifying to see people interested and already diving into the game, the guild and rp. We have some very nice and helpful folks so far.

PS–I gave you 25 Silver, Cal. Did you fudge and go run off and spend the difference on cheap wine and floozies???

*sigh* Yes you did give me half, I realized the error of my post after I’d written it. Please forgive my mistake. And to my millions of readers (yes millions) Kyrana gave me half :)

You never answered whether you spent it on cheap wine and floozies, though. Did you catch that, millions of readers? Did you? Huh? See what he did there? *crosses arms and taps foot*

Such a monetary windfall could only be done justice by spending it on expensive wine and floozies.
