Age of Conan Server List

15 May, 2008 (19:23) | Age of Conan, All

Well it’s finally here.  The servers have been named for Age of Conan.  Notice there are lots more PvE servers then PvP.  The FFA PvP’ers seem to have the loudest voice but the PvE servers have always been more popular, especially if it still offers some form of PvP.  They ask the question “Why so many PvE servers” over at the official forums.  I’ll even go out on a limb and make a prediction here.  The PvP servers will be merged due to lack of players.  Anyway, here’s the list.

The PVP fanatics can cry out for FFA PVP all they want, it will never happen long term. Theres only so many sheep that will stick around to be preyed upon by those wolves again and again.

Seems like your predictions were right on. Oh wait, they’ve added about the same amount of PvP servers as they have PvE. Hmmm…..interesting. I guess all those people with friends to play with don’t really notice much ganking.

Age of Conan has had a very successful launch, probably better than even Funcom expected. So it seem natural that they would add servers if the current number of servers can’t handle the number of players. Pirates of the Burning Sea, Vanguard, and The Matrix Online all merged their servers months after their games had released. You’d hardly expect a server merge 3 weeks after launch, surely.

But perhaps you are right and my predictions are wrong. Maybe AoC lends itself more to the FFA PvP style of gameplay than other MMOs. Let’s just wait and see.
