Tabula Rasa Entry #1

11 April, 2008 (00:42) | All, Tabula Rasa

As I mentioned previously I’ve started playing Tabula Rasa again.  When I stopped playing, back in January, I had a level 25 bio-technician, a level 15 sapper, and a level 7 soldier.  Well, I decided to continue playing the bio-tech.  He’s basically a healer currently.  TR has a tier system; everyone starts as a recruit with the same skills.  Then at level 5 you choose either soldier or specialist, branching again at levels 15 and 30.

So I’m playing the bio-tech and will play him until level 30, at which point I get to make my final career choice, either medic or exo-bioligist (think necromancer).  There doesn’t seem to be a need for a pure healer class in TR and as usual it’s the least solo friendly class, so I’m going to try the Exo.  I’ll still have all the heals I currently have as a bio-tech, but I’ll get access to some pets and other cool spells.  Either way I can clone my character at level 30 so if I decide I want a medic I won’t have to reroll, I can just pick up at level 30.

Discovering the Logos Clarity

Finding the Clarity Logos

I’ve managed to level to 27 already, just soloing missions, which have been quite fun and interesting.  I have to say that they do missions well.  TR makes you feel like you are just one of many in an ongoing war, but that you’re doing your little bit in aid of the cause.  You can hear mortars firing in the distance and the sound of dropships bringing in reinforcements.

There are two types of clans (guilds) in TR; PvE and PvP.  Previously I was in a PvE clan but this time I thought I’d see what PvP the game had to offer so I’ve joined a PvP clan.  It’s basically clan wars, with one clan declaring war on another or others and then for the next 7 days it’s open warfare on each other.  At least that’s how I think it works, I’m yet to experience any.  The developers are bringing in clan owned control points which you can fight over.  More on that can be found here.

Defending the Control Point

After the slow pace of Pirates of the Burning Sea and the grind of Vanguard, Tabula Rasa is a scream.
