A Couple Of Differences
I just wanted to mention a couple of differences I’ve noticed with groups in Vanguard compared to Everquest II. In EQ2 tanks would usually pull the mob, either with their taunts or body pulling. The rest of the group would then give the tank a few moments to build up agro before they’d start nuking (or at least they’re supposed to). In Vanguard I’ve noticed that it’s usually the bard or ranger that pulls, with the tank intercepting the mob and taking back agro as it closes in. Usually the puller, the bard or ranger, gets hit a few times before the tank can get agro from the mob.
Another difference I’ve noticed is with the group agro. In EQ2, once the tank had pulled a mob it was a fight to the death. If the tank accidently pulled 7 heroics instead of 1 then as a healer I would keep healing the tank until the group finally wiped. In EQ2 once one member of the group pulled a mob the entire group would go on that mob’s hate list.
In Vanguard it’s a bit different. For instance, if the tank walks into a room and accidently pulls the whole room, if everyone just stands back and watches the tank die, then only the tank will die and the mobs will go back to doing whatever it was they were doing. It took me some time to get used to this. I was used to the mentality that once the tank falls we all fall, and it was my job as a healer to keep the tank standing. But with Vanguard, provided no one else in the group has attacked the mob or cast any spells, only the tank will get agro and be attacked. So then it’s just a matter of rezzing the tank and continuing.

That is a cool concept. I like that. I am trying to remember….
Yes
Guild Wars was like this…one person could get aggro and the rest were safe as long as they did not engage.
But, WoW or LOTRO…do a heal, and the mob will be all over YOU
