RMT On Tobold’s Blog

13 March, 2008 (20:45) | All, Random Stuff

I was over at Tobold’s blog reading his latest post about Real Money Trade (RMT).  His post actually got me thinking.  I’ve always been opposed to RMT, and while I still am opposed, I’m not so single minded about it.  Tobold makes valid points about SOE Station Exchange servers allowing RMT as well as other legal avenues.  And then you have those Free-To-Play models which have cut out the gold sellers by being the gold sellers themselves.

I’ve never bought in-game gold, legally or illegally, and there’s probably a number of reasons why.  I don’t trust the sellers for one.  I also hate the in-game spam and don’t want to do anything to promote it.  But mostly I don’t think I really need it.  Sure, I want more gold.  But I can earn it.  Maybe not plats and plats of the stuff, but I can earn enough to get by and then some.
